N is for Narnia, for lands filled with fauns and dryads, dwarves and roaring lions. For endless knocking around in wardrobes, of hope that is never lost, of dreams brimming with delicious meals and staunch friendships. Adventures and challenges, wildness and freedom.

Do you remember the first time you encountered Narnia? (If you haven’t read the books, then get moving as quickly as possible to a bookstore, you won’t regret it.) I must have been four or five years old when I was introduced to Narnia. The mind-boggling concept that other worlds existed, a new concept for me back then. The possibility of escape, hidden within a wardrobe. A chance to talk with animals and other fascinating creatures.

A world quests, of righting wrongs, simple yet effective. A place where good triumphs over evil. But never silly or pointless. There is blood and battles, egos and betrayals. Written for children but holding a wealth of knowledge and magic for grown-ups. I have read these books countless times, revisiting the stories once a year.

As time has gone by, each and every closet I encountered all hold the promise of Narnia hiding inside. I never lose hope. Through every problem and drama, Aslan and his brave coterie of supporters have been by my side. Through trama and pain, there was always a place to hide. This unwavering belief has not diminished as I have grown older, on the contrary, possibly the belief in Narnia and magic has grown even stronger. I refuse to believe that we are here all alone in the universe. It is ludicrous that in this vast space, only Earth holds the answers.

With N is for Narnia, we celebrate hope, magic, curiosity, believing in the impossible. I am ready for the call, I won’t hesitate a moment for the chance to venture into unknown worlds and see where the adventure takes me.
