I is for Introspection, so quiet and truthful, so filled with meaning and depth. A solitary act, equally as necessary as oxygen, food, water, and good books. A doorway to your inner wheels and cogs. A quickening of the mind, a connection with the heart. A rash of goosebumps when lightbulbs click on.
A spot of introspection, whether daily, weekly, or just whenever you find a moment is extremely restorative. Not necessarily meditation, as that involves emptying the mind. This is casting your glance inside, seeing what is going on at an internal level. Checking how things are evolving in that marvellous body, incessant brain, and beating heart.
This is a quiet occasion to connect with yourself. To learn and to grow. A moment to mull and to investigate. Time to connect the dots and get answers. Sift through the past and see how it may still be affecting you today. To really be aware of the present and live life in the most magical and fullest way possible.
Everyone is capable yet hardly anyone sets time aside for introspection. The world would be a better place if we all cast a glance inwards. The space that exists within you is magical, holding a wealth of knowledge and answers. It needs your attention and will reward you greatly. What could be better than profoundly knowing yourself, the intrinsic parts of who you are and what makes you tick? The quirks and unique aspects, the emotions and feelings that ebb and flow? The colours and sensations, the flavour of who you are? Introspection is the door, the golden ticket to your own incredible journey.
With I is for Introspection in our Alphabet Imaginarium, we challenge you to throw open the door and take the first step inside. Like Alice in Wonderland, fall through your own rabbit hole and get ready for the ride. It might be scary at times but most often you’ll find exactly what you need, precisely what you are looking for.
If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that I’ll be posting each letter here on my blog, two per week. And if you’re just on-board, you can follow along on Facebook and Instagram.
